The effects of stress and mental distress such as depression, anxiety and other emotional issues are often viewed as taboo. 5th Place offers talks to educate about the importance and impact of emotional wellbeing and an introduction to Shape of Emotion as a way of attending to one’s emotional wellbeing. All talks are delivered online via Zoom

Emotions matter taster talk

The one hour taster talk introduces the audience to the importance of attending to their emotional health and offers a “taster” of the Shape of Emotion process.

The audience will leave with a better understanding of emotions and how they are made. It looks at the effect that emotions have on our health and physical wellbeing as well what happens when we BAN (bury, avoid or numb) negative emotions.

They will sample a new and simple way to regulate their emotions, using Shape of Emotion.

Duration: one hour

Emotions matter fitness talk

The two hour fitness talk introduces the audience to the importance of attending to their emotional health and offers a full Emotional Fitness Class experience using the Shape of Emotion process.

The audience will leave with a better understanding of emotions and how they are made. It looks at the effect that emotions have on our health and physical wellbeing as well what happens when we BAN (bury, avoid or numb) negative emotions.

The audience is taken through a guided process called an Emotional Fitness Class to down-regulate a difficult (negative) feeling and up-regulate a supportive (positive) feeling using Shape of Emotion.

Duration: two hours
